Privacy Policy — GloTube.pro
Last updated: July 2026
GloTube.pro (“we”, “the service”) helps YouTube creators translate video titles, descriptions, and subtitles and publish those localizations on their own channels. This policy explains how we access, use, store, and delete Google user data when you sign in with Google and connect a YouTube channel.
GloTube.pro’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See also the Google Privacy Policy.
1. Google user data we access
With your explicit consent through Google OAuth, we may access:
- Google account (Sign in with Google): your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile information (such as name and profile picture) to create and secure your GloTube.pro account.
- YouTube account (YouTube Data API): information about YouTube channels you connect, including channel ID and title; metadata of videos you select (title and description); existing captions/subtitles you choose to translate; and the ability to upload translated titles, descriptions, and captions to your connected channel only.
- App preferences: languages you select for translation and UI settings linked to your account.
We request only the OAuth scopes needed for sign-in and YouTube translation/publishing. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services unrelated to this app.
We do not collect, store, or display YouTube statistics such as view counts, like counts, subscriber counts, watch time, or similar metrics.
2. How we use Google user data
We use Google user data solely to:
- authenticate you and maintain your session;
- display your connected YouTube channels and videos you select in the app;
- read video metadata and captions you choose to translate;
- generate translations and publish them to your YouTube channel when you explicitly request it;
- store your language preferences and account-related settings;
- provide support and prevent abuse of the service.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, selling profiles, or unrelated analytics. We do not use Google user data to train generalized machine-learning models for third parties. Text you submit for translation is sent to our translation provider (see “Data sharing”) only to perform the translation you requested.
3. Data sharing with third parties
We do not sell Google user data. We share data only with service providers that help us run GloTube.pro:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and secure storage of account data and YouTube OAuth refresh tokens.
- Google / YouTube APIs — sign-in and YouTube operations you authorize.
- OpenRouter (or similar LLM API) — video title, description, and subtitle text you choose to translate, transmitted to generate translations. We do not send your Google password or unrelated Google data to this provider.
- Hosting (Render) — serves the website and application infrastructure; does not receive your Google tokens except as part of encrypted HTTPS traffic.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security practices. We do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
GloTube.pro and its service providers store or access information on your device using cookies and similar browser technologies, including:
- Session and authentication cookies (Streamlit / Supabase) — to keep you signed in and secure the application session.
glotube_yt_channel_*— remembers your last selected YouTube channel in the app UI (preference only; not YouTube API statistics).glotube_ui_locale— remembers your UI language preference on static pages.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit sign-in or certain preferences. Revoking Google access is available at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
5. Storage and protection
- Traffic between your browser and GloTube.pro uses HTTPS.
- Account data and YouTube refresh tokens are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) and are accessible only to authenticated users for their own account.
- OAuth tokens are used only to perform actions you request in the app.
- We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. YouTube API data: refresh, retention, and deletion
- Refresh: Your video list, metadata, and captions are fetched fresh from the YouTube Data API when you open the app, click “Refresh video list”, or select a video. We do not rely on stale cached API content beyond the active session.
- Session use: Video titles, descriptions, captions, thumbnails, and translations are held only in the active server session while you are working on a video, then discarded when the session ends or you sign out.
- Database: We do not persist YouTube video metadata, captions, thumbnails, or translations in our database. We permanently store only account identifiers, language preferences, connected channel ID/title, and OAuth refresh tokens needed to perform user-authorized actions.
- Statistics: We do not store or display YouTube statistics retrieved from the API for any period.
- 30-day rule: Any YouTube API content shown in the app is refreshed from the API during use and is not stored or displayed beyond the active session (well under 30 days).
7. Retention and deletion
- Account identifiers, language preferences, and OAuth refresh tokens are retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
- You may sign out in the app at any time.
- You may revoke access in your Google Account: myaccount.google.com/permissions and in YouTube/Google security settings for connected apps.
- To request deletion of your account data, email glotube.pro@gmail.com. We will delete or anonymize account data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
